The NECA Northern Indiana Chapter was chartered on November 30, 1944. Since that year, we have had four different operating locations:

- Our first office was located at 6445-1/2 Kennedy Avenue in Hammond
- Our second office, also in Hammond, was located at 6919 Indianapolis Boulevard. This location was purchased July 15, 1968 and remained our chapter headquarters for over 16 years.
- In September 1984, the chapter moved to its third location on the 7th floor of the Marquette Mall Office Building, at 450 St. John Road in Michigan City.
- Ground was broken for our current location at 105 Woodland Court in Michigan City on September 22, 1989. We moved in to this building on February 5, 1990.
The jurisdiction served by our Chapter is covered by three IBEW Local Unions, as follows:
- Local Union 153
St. Joseph, Elkhart, Marshall, and Kosciusko Counties in Indiana
Cass and Berrien Counties in Michigan

Porter, LaPorte, Starke, Jasper, and Pulaski Counties in Indiana
- Local Union 697
