Apprentice programs are three to five year programs with a highly respected form of specialized training, featuring an earn-while-you-learn approach. Apprentices in our industry's programs earn an attractive wage, as well as benefits such as health insurance and pension credits, for every hour worked on the job. College credits can even be earned for training completed, further adding to the benefit of these programs.

Apprentices receive classroom instruction, followed by a period of on-the-job training in which this instruction is put to work. Apprentices receive continuing support on the job from qualified professionals, most of who have earned their position through the same apprenticeship system!
Apprenticeship programs are sponsored by local affiliates of NECA and IBEW, who cooperate on the national and local level to educate and train people to perform electrical work, at more than 300 locations around the country. Upon graduation, apprentices become qualified professionals and can look forward to a rewarding career with great pay and benefits.
